Abstract
This study aims to determine the effect of early literacy activities and parental involvement on the language development of children aged 5–6 years at TK Tribakti Karangwungu. This research employed a quantitative approach with an associative research design. The sample consisted of 20 children selected using total sampling technique. Data were collected through observation sheets based on indicators of language development, including listening, speaking, vocabulary mastery, and early literacy skills.
The data were analyzed using statistical analysis techniques, including simple regression and multiple regression tests to examine both partial and simultaneous effects of the independent variables on the dependent variable.
The results showed that there was a significant improvement in children's language development after the implementation of early literacy activities supported by parental involvement. Based on the comparison between pretest and posttest scores, all children experienced an increase without any decrease or constant scores. Furthermore, statistical analysis indicated that both early literacy activities and parental involvement had a significant effect on children's language development, both partially and simultaneously.
In conclusion, early literacy activities combined with active parental involvement are effective in improving language development in early childhood.
