Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of the whispering chain game in improving early childhood language development. This research employed a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental design using a one-group pretest-posttest method. The sample consisted of 20 students from Group B at TK Islamiyah Luntas. Data were collected through structured observations using an assessment rubric covering five indicators: listening comprehension, message understanding, retelling ability, vocabulary usage, and communication confidence. Data analysis was conducted using the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test. The results showed a significant improvement in children’s language development after the implementation of the whispering chain game, with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. All students experienced improvement from pretest to posttest without any decrease or equal scores. These findings indicate that the whispering chain game supported by flashcard media is effective in enhancing early childhood receptive language development.
